Drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 6th round of the 2007 MLB Draft.

After a couple of years in the Arizona Diamondbacks system, Scott Maine was traded to the Chicago Cubs along with fellow MiLBer Ryne White in exchange for Aaron Heilman after the 2009 season.  Maine made his MLB and Cubs debut on August 27, 2010.  He pitched impressively in 13 games, posting a 2.08 in those relief appearances.  He pitched in seven games with the big league club in 2011.  In seven innings, Maine allowed 11 hits with five walks and five punchouts.  He also went 3-4 with a 3.68 ERA with 12 saves in 38 appearances for Triple-A Iowa.
