The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Cubs have announced the promotion of young Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler from the Arizona Rookie League to Class-A Peoria. The 20 year-old Soler hit .241 with two homers, 10 RBI and eight stolen bases in 14 games in Mesa.
The Cubs signed Soler earlier this summer to a nine-year, $30M deal.
He joins a Chiefs lineup that recently lost infield prospect phenon Javier Baez to promotion to Daytona.
